Tammara's Story: I Am A Phoenix

I'm a survivor in many ways. I've been through a lot of shit in my lifetime, so far,  if I told you all of it you'd think you were reading a fiction novel. But, I don't feel sorry for myself. I'm confident, not jaded, honest to a fault, & take life day by day and try to have fun doing it.

As soon as I saw the ad for BD on Facebook, I said "THAT'S ME!". I'm a Beautiful Disaster! You ladies embody exactly what I believe!

Life for me has been eventful from the get go. I was burned in a house fire when I was 3 years old with 2nd & 3rd degree burns, over 70 percent of my body, with a 5 percent chance of surviving in 1977. Needless to say I'm a bit stubborn & proved those Dr's wrong. I had no self esteem growing up.

I decided to change that, on my own, when I was 16. I'm not proud of the mantra I used to break myself out of the bad self esteem cycle "I may be ugly, but at least I have an excuse, you were born ugly", but it worked for me & it was directed at bullies. That's what got me over the hump. I now have a very healthy self esteem & have for all of my adult life and I'm damn proud of that!

I am now married to a wonderful man that I've known for years, who loves me unconditionally. Unfortunately, I am also now disabled due to a work injury 8 years ago, but I make myself get out of bed everyday, try to accomplish some things, no matter how small & don't bitch about it.

Of course my favorite collection is your Phoenix lines, because I am a Phoenix. But I could never pick just 1 item. All your collections speak to me. I even have Scully on my truck.
