More Than Survival: Alyssa’s Journey Back to Herself
What Makes You a Beautiful Disaster?
I am a Beautiful Disaster because my life hasn’t been perfect, polished, or easy, but I’ve kept going anyway.
I’m a mom, a student, and someone rebuilding her life after years of emotional struggles and feeling lost in my own story. There were times I felt overwhelmed trying to balance marriage problems, financial stress, work, parenting, and school all at once.
But even during the hardest moments, I kept showing up.
I’ve learned that strength doesn’t always look graceful. Sometimes it looks like crying in your car before class, studying late at night after work, or holding yourself together for your child when you feel exhausted inside.
I’m still healing, still growing, and still learning who I am outside of survival mode — and that’s what makes me beautifully imperfect.
Why Do You Identify with the Beautiful Disaster Brand?
I identify with Beautiful Disaster because the brand feels real. It doesn’t pretend life is always pretty or easy.
It represents women who have scars, struggles, and stories but still choose to keep moving forward.
As someone rebuilding confidence and rediscovering myself, I connect deeply with the message that pain can become strength. The brand reminds me that imperfections don’t make us less beautiful — they make us human.
Tell Us Your Beautiful Disaster Story
Over the last several years, I lost parts of myself trying to hold everything together for everyone else. I was focused on surviving instead of living.
Between relationship struggles, financial pressure, motherhood, work, and college, there were days I honestly felt emotionally exhausted and invisible.
But something changed when I decided I wanted more for myself and my daughter.
I went back to school to pursue nursing, even though I was terrified I might fail. I started focusing on my health, my confidence, and building a future instead of staying stuck in the past.
Now, I’m maintaining strong grades while balancing work and motherhood, and for the first time in a long time, I’m starting to feel hopeful again.
I still have hard days, but I’m no longer letting those days define me.
My story isn’t about perfection.
It’s about resilience.
What Happened for You to Turn It Around?
I realized I couldn’t keep living only for survival.
I wanted my daughter to see a mother who fought for happiness, growth, and self-worth instead of settling for emotional pain.
Going back to school gave me purpose again. Focusing on fitness, personal growth, and healthier relationships slowly helped me rebuild my confidence.
I started choosing peace over chaos and progress over fear.
