What Makes You a Beautiful Disaster?

I am a Beautiful Disaster because my life has never been neat, easy, or predictable—but I’ve never stopped building something beautiful from the chaos.

I’m a survivor of abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I’ve faced cancer not once, not twice, but now for a third time. I’ve lived through moments that could have broken me physically, mentally, and emotionally.

But every time life tried to take me down, I chose to rise. I chose to rebuild. I chose to turn pain into purpose.

The disaster is everything I’ve survived.
The beautiful part is who I’ve become because of it.

Why Do You Identify With the Beautiful Disaster Brand?

I identify deeply with Beautiful Disaster because the brand represents strength through struggle, confidence earned through hardship, and beauty that comes from resilience rather than perfection.

Beautiful Disaster celebrates women who fight through life’s storms and still stand tall. That message reflects my entire journey—from survivor to coach, from patient to competitor, from broken to building something bigger than myself.

It isn’t about pretending life is perfect. It’s about showing that strength, scars, and perseverance are what truly make us powerful.

Tell Us Your Beautiful Disaster Story

My story is one of survival, rebuilding, and refusing to quit.

I’ve endured abuse, trauma, and experiences that left deep emotional and physical scars. Later, I was diagnosed with cancer and fought through it. Then I faced it again. And now, for a third time, I am stepping into that fight once more.

But in the middle of all of that, I built a life rooted in strength and purpose.

I became a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor and earned my purple belt. I competed internationally. I opened Nine Realms MMA, where I now coach women and children, helping them build confidence, discipline, and self-belief.

I’ve dedicated my life to creating a safe, empowering community where people learn they are stronger than their fears.

My journey isn’t about avoiding hardship.

It’s about proving that hardship doesn’t get the final say.

What Happened for You to Turn It Around?

Jiu-jitsu changed everything for me.

It gave me control when life felt out of control. It taught me how to breathe under pressure, how to stay calm in chaos, and how to keep fighting even when I felt exhausted or overwhelmed.

On the mat, I learned that strength isn’t about size or perfection—it’s about persistence. Every roll became a reminder that I could survive hard moments and come out stronger.

Jiu-jitsu didn’t just teach me how to defend myself. It gave me confidence, purpose, and a community. It helped me transform from someone who survived life into someone who actively leads, competes, coaches, and inspires others to find their own strength.

It wasn’t just a sport.

It was my turning point.

Name 3 Things You’ve Done to Move Closer to Happiness

  1. With my husband, I built Nine Realms MMA to create a positive, empowering space for families, women, and kids to grow stronger together.

  2. I committed to competing and continuing my jiu-jitsu journey—even while facing cancer again—because pursuing what I love keeps my spirit strong.

  3. I turned my past into purpose by mentoring others, supporting students through their own struggles, and helping them discover confidence they didn’t know they had.

What Is Your Favorite Beautiful Disaster Collection, Past or Present, and Why?

My favorite Beautiful Disaster collection is the HOPE Collection, because to me HOPE means: Hold On, Pain Ends.

That message reflects my entire life.

I’ve had moments where the pain felt endless—surviving abuse, fighting cancer multiple times, and now facing it again while still coaching, competing, and leading my gym.

In those moments, hope wasn’t just a feeling. It was a choice. A decision to hold on one more day, one more round, one more breath.

Jiu-jitsu reinforced that mindset for me. On the mat, you learn that pressure passes, hard rounds end, and if you stay calm and keep fighting, you can make it through.

The HOPE Collection represents what I live every day: no matter how hard life gets, if you hold on, the pain does end—and what comes after can be stronger, wiser, and more powerful than before.
